On the 2nd of October 2024, Shri Balaji Mahila P.G. College, along with Shri Balaji Mahila Sanskrit College, celebrated the birth anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation, and Lal Bahadur Shastri with enthusiasm and joy. This special event was part of a larger celebration held across various schools and colleges managed by the Balaji Mandir Trust.

During the event, students performed speeches, hymns, and poems focusing on the inspiring lives of Gandhi Ji and Shastri Ji. They shared how the principles of truth, non-violence, and discipline continue to serve as guiding lights for people around the world. Girls expressed their admiration by describing Mahatma Gandhi’s life as a symbol of inspiration.

A highlight of the event was a theatrical performance based on the ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ campaign, promoting the importance of empowering and educating girls, a message that resonated with the core values of the college. The students also performed soulful songs based on Gandhi Ji’s teachings, which added to the festive and motivational spirit of the day.

On this occasion, Mahant Dr. Narresh Purri Ji Maharaj spoke about the importance of following Gandhi Ji’s ideals in daily life. He urged everyone to adopt truth, non-violence, and discipline, emphasizing that these values are as relevant today as they were during Gandhi Ji’s time. Dr. Nareshpuri Maharaj also stressed the importance of cleanliness, reminding everyone of Gandhi Ji’s commitment to hygiene and a clean society.

The programme concluded on an inspiring note, encouraging everyone to adopt the principles of Gandhiji and Shastriji in their lives and communities and become role models for positive change by following in the footsteps of these great leaders.
